The new group aims to have Cork South-West TD Michael Collins as its party leader and Limerick County TD Richard O’Donoghue TD as its general secretary. The Electoral Commission has approved the new party to run candidates in general, local, and European elections.

Notably, while apppearing on Prime Time the party announced they aspire to field 70 candidates for the local and European elections scheduled for 2024. The party will only become Ireland’s 27th political party after a 21-day appeal period lapses, or after the outcome of any appeals.
The formal notification was published on Friday in the official Irish State gazette, Iris Oifigiuil, the Electoral Commission said.
